BABY DOMINIQUE BORN 6 lB, 5 OZ

I have to say from the beginning that I loved being pregnant. I had been waiting all my life to have a child, to experience feeling a baby growing inside of me. I can honestly say I was too excited to care about how big I was getting. I think my biggest concern was stretch marks. I knew that I would lose the weight, but I was obsessed with preventing stretch marks. I think that was the hardest and most frustrating part of my pregnancy.

I had dinner at a friend's house once, and he had a beautiful picture on the wall of a naked pregnant woman. I remember thinking that I would like to have a portrait like that when I got pregnant. I never really thought I would have the opportunity, but when a co-worker mentioned that his wife was working on a project photographing pregnant women, I jumped at the chance. When I told my husband I was going to participate, he didn't think I was serious until the day before I was scheduled to pose.

It was really cold the day of the shoot, but I was surprised that I didn't feel very cold or nervous while posing. When we were done, the first thing my husband said to me was, "I can't believe you went through with it!" Then he laughed. I was very anxious to see my picture and when I finally received a print, I was really happy. I felt the background my husband picked was such a great idea. There have been many pictures taken of the globe in Flushing Meadows Park, but not too many with a naked pregnant woman in front of it.
