BABY ABIGALE BORN 6 LB, 13 OZ

When I committed to posing for this series, no one had yet chosen to be photographed on the Brooklyn Bridge. This was reserved for the bravest of souls, or the biggest nut, depending on how you look at it. But I agreed to do it.

The shoot took place at approximately 5 a.m. in late September. My husband, John, and I prayed for a mild day, and as we drove downtown we agreed that we would not go through with it if we weren't comfortable.

With John on lookout at one end of the bridge, and Tom (Alexa's husband) on lookout at the bridge tower, I threw off my raincoat. Pregnant, nude, and on the Brooklyn Bridge --I was either really cool or completely insane. It was too late to turn back, so I decided I was really cool, and by the end of the shoot John was calling me the "The Artist Formerly Known As Jenny." We were psyched, filled with an adrenaline rush that kept us high all day.
